Wiley X was founded in 1987 (initially as Protective Optics) by U.S. Army veteran Myles Freeman Sr., with the mission of producing high-impact protective eyewear for military and law enforcement.

Today, Wiley X remains a family-owned American brand, headquartered in the U.S., with an EMEA division in Denmark. The brand delivers rugged, standards-compliant eyewear—tactical and civilian—that exceeds ANSI Z87.1 and MIL specs.
